St. Lorenzen-Stefansdorf-Mountain inn Haidenberg
Walking path no. 4
Start at the station and walk to the parking site east and on to the old signalman’s house, along the pavement to Stefansdorf. Pass the church, and walk on to Haidenberg through meadows and forests. Another possibility is to take the access road to the mountain inn. Haidenberg is well known among lovers of tobogganing since there’s a beautiful toboggan run in winter.
Walking time from station St. Lorenzen: 2 hours
Alternative Haidenberg – Kronplatz:
From Haidenberg you can follow marking no. 4 to the Kronplatz. This walk is rather difficult and steep and leads through the forest up along the west back of the Kronplatz Mountain. This strenuous walk takes another 2 hours (Walking time St. Lorenzen – Kronplatz 4 hrs.). However, the view to the Dolomites and the Alps is spectacular and unique. On the summit of the Kronplatz Mountain you can astonish the biggest bell in Alps and on the balustrade of the bell tower there’s a bronze relief of the surrounding mountains. The flat panorama path Concordia on the Kronplatz Mountain is an easy walking path suitable for children (length 3 km).
You then have the possibility to return with the cable car back down to Riscone/Reischach (open in summer from the end of June to the beginning of October).
