The South Tyrol Museum of Folk Traditions

The South Tyrol Museum of Folk Traditions is an outdoor museum that, with its two dozen original buildings, aims to provide as colourful as possible an insight into the old ways of life. The museum’s centrepiece is the Mair am Hof residence. This stately building contains household furniture and implements, folk art and traditional religious exhibits. Numerous work tools and chattels are on display to introduce us to the world of rural work. The old buildings in the open-air exhibition ground, with a kitchen, parlour, bed chambers, stables and mills are a fascinating experience.
