stations

In order to make train services more functional and comfortable for its customers, STA (Strutture Trasporti Alto Adige SpA) was asked by the the Government of South Tyrol to revamp a number of stations along the Pustertal line. The Rio Pusteria/Mühlbach, Casteldarne/Ehrenburg and Brunico/Bruneck junction stations have also been upgraded in order to speed up rail traffic. Also, the centrally-located San Lorenzo di Sebato/St. Lorenzen station was re-opened. Platform height was raised by 55 cm, in order to allow customers, especially the elderly, differently-able or those in wheelchairs, to board trains with greater ease. Also, new car parks have been built, as well as new bus shelters, in order to provide seamless connections between trains and other means of transport. Subways and lifts are available at each station for increased safety, as well as sheltered platforms for greater comfort. A brand new building was erected to house Valdaora/Olang station, while the first stone of the new mobility centre was laid in Brunico/Bruneck. Tobach/Dobbiaco's fully-renovated station is expected to become the jewel in the crown of the Pustertal railway.
